When I first started with Squarespace templates in 2019, my initial reaction to discovering other template shops—there were only a few at the time—was disbelief. Do people really buy these? I couldn’t understand why anyone would need a custom template when Squarespace already made it so easy to build a website.
But as it turns out, there’s a huge market for them. Creating my own template shop and promoting myself through my templates completely transformed my business. It led to a steady stream of custom design clients, consistent custom requests, and strong template sales that cover my business expenses, pay my assistant’s salary, and generally keep everything running. Now, five years later, I can see just how impactful it has been.
