Playful Squarespace Website for a Copywriter
Erin Kuester
Erin Kuester is an Iowa-based copywriter and content writer. She specializes in turning neurodivergent info dumps into hot copy for websites.
She chose Squarespace and our Perfectionist Squarespace Template to build a website for her creative business. This template’s funky yet professional vibe is a great fit for service providers.
Erin did a fantastic job customizing the Perfectionist template. She published a website that reflects her business, her character, and her sense of humor.
Since copywriting is her key service, Erin needed to craft compelling website copy for herself – and she delivered. Her website is a perfect showcase of what she can achieve for her clients.
She’s also fearless when it comes to color, making her site stand out from the sea beige mum businesses. Erin boldly combines orange, pink, blue, lime, and forest green. The secret? All these colors share the same saturation level, creating a harmonious and vibrant palette. The bursts of color are balanced out with neutrals – pale peach and dark grey.
The site is full of lively elements – emojis, small illustrations, scrolling text lines, and playful text styling. It’s not just visually appealing; it’s fun to interact with.
With so many colors, bold headlines, and dynamic elements, the design could easily feel overwhelming – but it doesn’t. Erin thoughtfully distributes these elements throughout the site, ensuring a visually engaging yet balanced experience.
Visiting her website feels like you really get to know Erin. She achieves it through her brilliant copy and happy portraits of herself. She even gives you a chance to meet her furry team – two dogs and a cat.
To make sure website visitors come back for a second date, Erin packs her blog with lots of useful, up-to-date copywriting and podcast tips.
Here’s what Erin has to say about the template:
I loved working with the Perfectionist template because it has everything I wanted in a Squarespace template: eye-catching modern design (without a ton of fuss), plenty of pre-made section options (so I didn't have to focus on design when I needed to add sections), and the ability to customize for my own needs.
I'm pretty comfortable with Squarespace, but I love that the only thing I needed to update with Perfectionist was the color palette with my branding colors, and I didn't have to fiddle around with stuff like borders, button styles, link colors, etc.
My absolute favorite feature of the Perfectionist template is the footer (I think it just looks so fun and professional, and love that I can have my face at the bottom of every page of my website), and the blog layout (I like that the blog layout includes some visual interest with the featured section at the top of the page instead of just being a list of blog posts to click on).
